One is called scrnsave.exe in the program files\ directory and the other is called [name].scr in the windows\system directory. what a waste. Then theres a startup.exe file in each program files\ directory. This crack just cracks a .scr file. Note that the way they have it set up is inefficient. All you need is one .scr file with their engine, and it can load the "image sets" of the others. So the best way to do this is install one screensave, crack it, then use it to drive all others. You can delete the other .scr files and .exe files in their home directories. ImageFactory (www.imagefs.com) have lots of screensavers on their site which can be unlocked with the crack. --> PLEASE GLANCE THROUGH USAGE NOTES BELOW <--- Instructions: Run the patch and locate the .scr file which represents the screensaver. It will usually be in /windows/system and have a filename ending in .scr If the patcher says 'unsuccessful' then it didn't work, OR it's already cracked. Check the INFO->Otheres box for Flying Raichu credit to see if it's already patched. USAGE NOTES 1 ------------- Image Factory set up their screensavers so that each install puts some unnesc. crap on your computer. In addition to the .scr file, they create a directory Progam Files\screensavername\ with the image data, and a file in Program Files\screensavername\wallmap.exe and a file in Program Files\screensavername\scrnmgr.exe and a file in Program Files\screensavername\calData\startup.exe and a file in Program Files\screensavername\calData\scrnsave.exe The scrensave.exe file is an EXACT duplicate of the .scr file found in C:\Windows\System, and can be safely deleted. It will NOT be cracked by this program and is useless. The startup.exe program just launches the scrnsave.exe file and should also be deleted (also not cracked). The link to start the screensaver that gets placed on your toolbar and startmenu point to these programs which i did not crack (sorry) so they can/should be deleted. The wallmap.exe program will be discussed later. The scrnmgr.exe program is actually the install program, and can safely be deleted. The screensaver, chosen through screen properties is the only one that gets cracked and is the only one you will use. USAGE NOTES 2 ------------- Imagefs is also inefficient in that each screensaver you install from them is really an engine which can display all the pictures. All you need is one .scr file with their engine, and it can load the "image sets" of the others. This is convenient actually, since then y ou can use one set of options. Choose "Browse IFS Images" then "Select: Image Set", and you can choose image sets from all the o ther Imagefs screensavers you have installed. The crack makes them all seem fully registered. Therefore, the best way to use multiple screensavers from imagefs is to just install one screensave, crack it, then use it to drive all others. After you install others, you can remove the .exe files listed above AND the .scr file for the new screensaver. The other screensaver will use the images in the Program Files\ directory. In this way you don't eat up your disk with unnesc. files. You might want to rename the one .scr file you have to something like "Generic ImageFS Screensaver" to remind you that this is really the eng ine for a bunch of screensavers. The uninstall procedures for the individual screensaver images will still work as normal. USAGE NOTES 3 - IMPORTANT ------------------------- Installing each screensavers adds a file Program Files\screensavername\wallmap.exe, which can be used to change yo ur desktop wallpaper on startup. Although this program does an okay job of it, especially when it let's you change the lightness/darkness of the image used, each screensaver adds its wallpaper manager to windows startup, and it's silly to have multiple wallpaper managers all running one after the other. Most importantly, I've had a wallmap.exe hang on me at startup. I think it's because if you install multiple screensavers the wallpaper managers conflict with one another, and so you should disable all but one of them. If you have win98 you can use your built-in system configuration utility: Start Menu->Run-> [Then type msconfig and hit enter]. Then choose Startup tab, and uncheck all entries (or all but one) begining with "Wallmapper". Needless to say if you disable all but one, then use the properties of this one to choose wallpaper options. You can also search internet for a freeware program called "startup cop 4; which is nice and let's you disable startup programs easily. IMPORTANT_README.txt: IMPORTANT ---------- Unrelated to the crack for this program, I have found that the wallpaper managers installed with imagefs screensavers can occasionally hang on windows start up, wand might even cause an occasional blue screen on boot. I *think* this happens when mutiple imagefs screen savers have been installed, and the multiple wall paper managers conflict with one another on bootup. So you might try disabling all but one of them from windows boot.
